[ And Junpei gets up to change, lamenting the fact that he doesn't have his true school uniform. The SEES uniform is very close, especially if he actually wears the jacket properly as opposed to tied around his waist like usual. But it doesn't have the Gekkoukan emblem. Ah well. It serves the purpose.

When Eikichi gets there, Junpei pops in the doorway just finishing up with setting his baseball cap into place. ]

Well hello there, handsome.

[Oh okay, they are doing it like that? He's gotta lean into the cool Kasugayama High School personality. He slams his left hand on the wall upwards around Junpei's head to lean on to it, the other hand in one of his pockets and moves closer to him.]

Hey there, good looking.

[...shit uh...]

Wanna go eat breakfast? [...] And stuff.

[Nailed it.]

And stuff.

[ Junpei offers a teasing wink. He's not sure where he fits in on the high school stereotype list. If Eikichi is the cool badass then what does that make Junpei? As much as he loves baseball, he's not a jock. He's definitely not the 'good boy.' He's just the funny slacker. Does that make him someone Eikichi's classmates would bully? Someone Eikichi would stand up for as the bully of bullies??

He doesn't know. But this morning robbed Junpei of his morning kiss, so he decides to remedy that right now with Eikichi so nice and close -- tilting his head up, meeting his lips, and sighing against them. All is now right in the world. ]

[Aww come on! Sure, he totally wants that (and it totally turned on) but that is not how you great the bad boy of the group. Bah whatever, they're already off the script, so he's just going to deepen the kiss and put an arm around him.

When they stop, he's blushing. Still not quite used to it, it seems.]

Look, I usually beat people up, not try to pick them up.

[ Junpei's hand is pressed to the center of Eikichi's chest, lips pursed in thought. ]

You're like the Robinhood of bullies. Beating up the baddies...and giving it to the poors.

[ Junpei presses against him teasingly to emphasize what precisely he means by 'giving it.' But Junpei then ducks beneath Eikichi's arm to sidestep. They have plans for a breakfast date and he will not allow himself to be distracted by his cursedly strong libido. ]

Soooo what's our high school fantasy meet cute? How does bad boy Eikichi get tangled up with class clown Junpei?

Mostly. [There were a few times he picked up a fight with a St-Hermlin student because he made fun of him.] I stopped being the Boss too, so this is all moot point anyway. I'd only give it to you.

[Oh he knows what he means. It's difficult not to just go back to his room, but they agreed to a breakfast date, so date it is. He puts an elbow over Junpei and forces them to walk towards the kitchen.]

Uh let's see...[Hmmm what could lead to a rag-tag couple meeting up?]...Persona Group?

[Look a short while ago he was panic he'd lost him again, his brain is not working well this morning.]

[ He snickers, shaking his head. ]

Forget being persona users! We're not persona users in this nice, normal high school fantasy.

[ Looks like Junpei will have to get the imagination ball rolling. He looks toward the ceiling in thought, trusting Eikichi to steer him if he's about to bump into anything. ]

Maybe you came to Gekkoukan High as part of some Battle of the Bands and I was so into your sound, I started chatting you up? Maybe played up the fact that I could sorta play guitar and then had to actually learn because I totally wanted to impress you....

[ That's the fun idea. Then Junpei comes at it with the sad idea which just plays off a very real fantasy he had. ]

Or maybe you're out late one of the nights I ran off from home. You run into me and give me someplace warm to sleep. Or we find someplace to hang out and forget about home for a while so I didn't have to be alone.

[Dang. Starts out pretty strong then crashes by the end. Isn't that a little too true-to-life. Eikichi looks a little sad and briefly stops walking.]

Bro maybe we can keep this more fantasy than reality? I want happy feelings with you this morning. Maybe you're a rising baseball player and despite my singing, I can't play for shit but I promised I'd throw a starting pitch at a local baseball match and don't want to look stupid? I need a teacher but I'm too cool to ask for one.

[He's working extra hard to make this cool.]

I mean, it'd be happy 'cause I'm meeting you.

[ He perks up with a chipper smile, making sure to be extra cutesy so the mood won't sour. ]

But sure, sure. First pitch is a cute idea. They asked you to sing the national anthem, right? That's why they want you to throw the first pitch. This is your big chance to put your own Gas Chamber spin on Kimigayo. Annnnd one day after practice, I happen to be rounding the corner and see you there. Giving this wild throw. And I'm all like 'bro, you got all this power, but you gotta focus it. Treat the baseball like you'd treat a lover~'

[Oh good, it's just a setup. Eikichi just felt uneasy a little about it. But he likes this entire story, nodding as they get close to the kitchen. He has to finish this so how does he do it?]

Whaaa? No. I mean, that's great in some scenarios, but not THIS particular one! The correct answer is with focus and care, man. Focus and care, lining it up just right to send that pitch straaaaight over the plate.

[ He pantomimes it with an invisible ball -- the way he'd have Eikichi eventually learn to toss it. And then the hand drops against his side. ]

Ahh. Right!

[To his credit, he doesn't seem insulted, just very confused at first. Then he tries to do the same with his free hand - badly, beginner-like and with the wrong hand, but it's him doing his best.]

I'm going to need practise. I'm in your care!

[If he means with this made-up scenario or with actually throwing a ball like Junpei's dreamed about remains to be seen. They have arrived at the kitchen, and he removes (slowly) his arm around him, taking out an apron from one of his school outfit pockets.]

I wonder if we can ask the kitchen for maple syrup...I hear it goes really great with pancakes.

[ Junpei chuckles, letting his lips meet Eikichi's cheek before he's on to do his cooking thing. ]

I've got you, dude.

[ In this fake scenario with zero stakes whatsoever. But it's cute that Eikichi even went as far as to pretend like he was mimicking the throw. ]

I actually wanted to ask you a favor. Not related to anything we were talking about. Well, maybe a little. It's related to baseball.

[ He pauses as Eikichi debates the syrup. ]

I dunno. We could try it? That's how they do it in the West, yeah?

[He's got a tiny book resting on the kitchen counter, getting eggs, flour, milk and sugar before peering into it. He could just ask the kitchen to make him pancakes but...Eikcihi wants to learn how to do them too. So maybe he can make them for Junpei.]

You mean you teach me baseball? [He doesn't understand exactly what Junpei is saying.] I mean...[he groans a little, but it's far less the visceral reaction like before.]...I'll try it. If you want to show me.

[He tilts his head.]

Unless you mean an allegory for something to do in bed?

[With Junpei he can never be sure. He says it almost nonchalantly like that also could be what he means.]

[ Junpei shakes his head at both of those guesses, smiling. It might be fun to have Eikichi keep guessing because Junpei doesn't think he'd be able to guess what he's about to ask in a million years...but Eikichi doesn't need too much of a distraction. Not while he's being nice and cooking for Junpei. So he'll just come out with it. ]

I'd love to teach you baseball, but that ain't what I was gonna ask. It's just with it being baseball season and all, I've been pretty bummed not getting to watch the games. So I've been thinking about what I can do and I was wondering if like I wrote you out all the rules of baseball...

[ Is this too big of an ask? Junpei hesitates. Eh. Fuck it. Worst Eikichi could do is say no. ]

...if maybe you could draw me some games? Like it could be in manga style. And you could even have it be each of the Fae Courts as teams. You could like, I dunno. Use some dice to figure out the scores and which team is gonna win so there can be an element of surprise even for you! A-and it wouldn't have to be super detailed or anything. Just a quick sketched game that I could tuck into in the afternoon.

[That is not at all what Eikichi expected and he has to stop stirring the mixture to really think about it. Could he pull it off? He's not sure.]

I don't know anything about baseball, so you'd have to be really patient with me. [However, it is a challenge. Eikichi Mishina is all about challenges.] Maybe there's books in the library too, right? I think some of the books are from home so...

[He strokes his chin. It's a tall order. That's like if his dad asked him to draw him derby races.] If the drawings are crude, is that okay? [He's giving it serious thought.] We'll have to put the manga on hold too. I don't think my hand can survive that much drawing.

Yeah! It's totally fine. You could even draw them as stick figures, man. I'd do it myself, buuut one. You saw my art. Everyone looked like they were holding giant dicks. And two, if I made it, that kinda ruins the surprise. Half the fun of watching the games is not knowing what's gonna happen!

[ Junpei takes a nearby seat, placing his chin right between both of his palms. ]

And we can totally pause the manga for a bit. It was just my excuse to hang around you anyway...

[ He grins and winks. Cat's outta that bag now. Even before Junpei knew he had feelings for Eikichi, he used the manga as an excuse to drop by his room at all hours of the day. It gave him something to say other than 'I just popped by because, well, I wanted to see you.' ]

And I wouldn't expect you to make this happen as often as actual games are on. Maybe....once a week? Would that be good?

[ He's just thrilled Eikichi's even considering it. ]

I mean, would it really be bad if they held giant dicks? [He's laughing as he says that.] Right, right, so you want the element of surprise.

[Aha...now that he thinks about it, that makes sense, doesn't it? The fact they would talk hours about the manga, not realizing it was just an excuse to be close to each other...]

I still want to do it. We were giving it to the fae anyway, right? [Maybe they could get something cool out of it.]

Once a week...if you don't mind stick figures and me screwing up the rules, then yeah! [In fact, he has an idea that might make this even better for Junpei...he'll keep it to himself for now. For now, time to light up the pan and put in this pancake mix! Hopefully he got all the ingredients right.]

[ Eikichi is the best. He's genuinely the best, most amazing boyfriend in the world. Junpei lets out a sound of delight when he agrees, pumping a fist in boyish excitement. ]

You're awesome. Thanks, dude! I'll write out all the rules as detailed as I can. And even draw you a diagram of where the each member of the team plays, what parts of the field they cover, the boundaries of where the ball can go before it's considered foul, and so on! I'll try to make it interesting...and hide little love notes in between so you gotta pay attention and not zone out!

[ To Eikichi's credit, he listened to Junpei as he would go on and on about baseball -- even if he didn't quite grasp it. He always listens to Junpei, even when Junpei's not really saying anything of particular value. Junpei has no doubt Eikichi will pay attention to whatever Junpei writes out for him, even if sports aren't his forte. But Junpei will reward him with little written praises and adulations. And sex. Lots and lots of sex.

It's unreal to find your perfect match in some magic land ripped out of time. Junpei watches Eikichi work, so entirely enamored by him.

And then he glances away to request an energy drink from the kitchen -- because Junpei's gotta start the day off in the worst way possible! Once he gets the can, he cracks it open and takes a good hearty shot of sugar and caffeine. ]

Our manga is still totally a thing, yeah. We can just take our time with it. Live some more of our own relationship to pull from because clearly it's about us. I don't plan on going anywhere any time soon so you're stuck spending time with me every day. Oh nooo.

[All Eikichi can think is 'heh heh heh wait until he finds out what I've got on store for him'. Hopefully Tatsuya would say yes.]

Are you saying my eyes would glaze over? [But it's kinda funny, didn't Junpei say he hates homework? And here he was, set to write a very long dissertation about baseball that was hopefully dumbed down enough that even he would understand it. Eikichi liked a challenge anyway, and if this meant he would spend less time time doing actual baseball he is definitely about doing this.] But okay, if you want to play, hide the words of praise, I'll highlight them when I find 'em!

[Oh shit bubbles! He flips the pancake over and...well it's a little burnt. First ones are always bad, right? He can try with the next one, once this one is completely done cooking.]

Oh noooo! What a horrible life to live. [Yeah the happiest in years, how will he cope?] We just gotta figure out why you ended up in your room, and we'll be set!

[ Junpei is saying that, but rather than reiterate it, he simply winks. Maybe Eikichi would take that and spite him by paying EXTRA close attention to Junpei's massive picture filled essay. Whatever will Junpei do in that case?? He takes another swig of his Madbull, looking off in thought. ]

Yeah, winding up back in my room is a mystery. If the castle was putting everyone back where they belong, why wasn't Morgana there? So it's gotta be something else. I'll pack up when we're done here and try again. See if it lets me stay tonight?

[ And within one week, when this happens again, they will be able to solve the mystery. For now, it's a puzzle. ]

Maybe they're still putting things back in order after that whole orb fiasco so it was just a fluke? Hope so. It felt immediately wrong to wake up alone.

[ Funny how it's only been a week and this has become the new normal. Like anything prior to being in a relationship with Eikichi was just some bizarre existence. ]
