"Ow," Junpei says, not from any real pain -- smiling all the while. It's just an obligation whenever Eikichi gives him one of his light punches, Junpei must give him an ow. It's been that way for much of their relationship and for as much as everything has changed, some things will stay exactly the same. "Can't fault me for having fun!"
And then he's hoisted up. Now that Junpei doesn't love -- whining a bit. "Eiiiikiiiichiiii, whyyy?"
Why are they leaving the nice cozy bed to get cleaned up when they already came from cleaning up?? Junpei siiiighs. It's fortunate he's being carried by Eikichi right now because the fatigue is truly starting to settle in and if he was left to use his own legs, he'd be more like a shambling zombie than anything. It's been a hell of a day. Fretting most of the night, the emotional turmoil of the morning and then the physical intimacy that followed. He is so ready for sleep.
But in many ways he's fighting sleep as well.
"....this isn't a dream, is it?" He asks after a time. He's like....95% sure this is real. But things had been so bad and then became so good that Junpei just wants to triple check this isn't some kind of Fae trick or a shared dream or maybe even just a normal dream.
"Because that's going to dry and be a pain to clean off after," he replies like he knows all about the proper rules of aftercare (or maybe not to fall asleep right after ejaculating). Eikichi is calling the shots, carrying him for a quick hot shower to wash both of themselves off, holding Junpei like a bride the entire time, only putting him more horizontally when they can't quite fit into the shower.
It didn't take too long for him to be satisfied (literally, figuratively) and come back to the other bed, giving him a tiny kiss on the forehead like they hadn't just been doing it like rabbits before laying him down. He kneels down to him to smile at that question.
"Pretty sure this is real, bro. Pinch me if you're not sure. Or tell me a word for me to tell you later today when you wake up." If Junpei hasn't fallen asleep yet, he also adds. "Oh yeah...what do you want to eat later? I'll go make it for us. Tonight."
Junpei's definitely pliant and easy to move around, but that's also because he's partially dozing the entire time. So he accepts the quick cleaning without complaint but ultimately, he's most happy to be returned to the bed -- arms wrapping around the pillow. It might seem like he's out already, but he does answer Eikichi.
"Mmm, I'd say if you were cuddling me when I wake up and don't freak out and run off, that's all the sign I need," he smiles, cracking open an eye to look at Eikichi. "I don't care, dude. Bring whatever. Soba, maybe? Toshikoshi soba."
It's not even close to New Years Eve right now. But hopefully Eikichi would understand why Junpei would make that suggestion now. It's to give them luck and longevity into the year because if there's one thing Junpei wishes for above anything else -- it's to have as many good times with Eikichi as possible. Before the end. Before they gotta forget it all.
"When you see Tatsuya...tell him I said thanks," he murmurs.
But anything Eikichi says following that will fall on deaf ears as Junpei finally succumbs to the lack of sleep the prior evening.
Oh. He understands what he means, after Eikichi thinks about it. Just enough to hear Junpei's last words AS HE FUCKING DIES as he falls asleep.
"Yeah..I will."
Junpei won't have to worry about anything, as Eikichi takes the time to clean everything else up, fold Junpei's clothing by their bedside and placing his sketchbook on the top. The one Eikichi had spent the last day in a daze drawing more pictures of him. Just in case he needed a confirmation, if Eikichi didn't come back before he woke up later during the day.
